Guide to Health Department Rules Regulating Food & Lodging Establishments
There are several food and lodging regulations that have been promulgated as formal Rules by the Vermont Department of Health, pursuant to Vermont law. (See Title 18, Chapter 85, Vermont Statutes Annotated)
SUBCHAPTER 2: Vermont Department of Health Regulations, Chapter 5, Subchapter 2, “Food Service Establishments”

Covers the licensing of restaurants, delicatessens, fish markets, salvage food establishments and food processors.
SUBCHAPTER 2A: Vermont Department of Health Regulations, Chapter 5, Subchapter 2A
- “Lodging Establishments”
Covers the licensing and inspection of hotels, motels, tourist homes, bed & breakfast establishments, etc.
SUBCHAPTER 4: Vermont Department of Health Regulations, Chapter 5, Subchapter 4
- “Food Establishments”
Covers the licensing and inspection of food production establishments such as those manufacturing or packaging candies, salsa, salad dressing, beverages, etc.

- "Bakeries"
Covers the licensing and inspection of bakeries and camps.
